FAQ

Will there be a schedule so we know how many miles to go each week or day or are we just going to report what we've done?
Our weeks will run from Wednesday to Tuesday. I put up a call for miles on Tuesday morning and you will report in. I hope to have all the miles updated onWednesday afternoon (feel free to check back to correct my math).

As far as a schedule, I don’t have one but there are 13 weeks in our 3 Month Challenge so you will need to get about 8 miles a week on average. In the past, for me, some weeks have been much lower than this and other weeks have been higher.

Can I link to this page? Yes! You are welcome to link to this page and invite others to join in.

So if we bike, we count 15 min as a mile, not actual mileage right? Yes, you are right. Walking and running counts mile for mile – everything else counts as fifteen minutes for one mile. This includes yoga, weight-lifting, swimming, biking, etc.

Which program do you use to calculate mileage for walks? I personally use the Sports Tracker App on my phone. I have also used this site to plan routes. Heather uses Cardio Trainer. My good friend, Julie A., uses Daily Mile to record her miles. I have an account there as well – it’s kind of like Facebook for athletes. You can connect with friends and can leave comments, encouragement and advice.

Can I count half miles? No. The goal of this is to push yourself to do a little bit more. If you find yourself walking two and a half miles, push yourself to go that extra half mile so you can count it for three. Otherwise, round down and count it as two. Of course, I am not the mile police, but be honest. If you do two and a half miles on Monday and two and half miles on Tuesday, count it as four, not five. You can do it!

If you have any other questions, let me know and I’ll answer! I’m so excited to do this with all of you!
