Round 5 | Final Call for Miles

The Body Achieves

{source}

I can’t believe it is the end of June! June absolutely flew by for me.

Today is the last day of Round 5. Post your miles for this week in a comment. Be sure to log back in tomorrow to see results and join in Round 6 – let’s keep this momentum going through the rest of the summer.

I have loved seeing you all rack up the miles and seeing your pictures on Instagram. It’s been so fun to connect with women across the country in this journey.

Your mind knew you could reach 100 miles, and your body did. Be proud of yourself!

Have a fabulous Sunday!

Round 5 | Week 11

Mt Timp PW Boost

I don’t think that there are any fathers playing along this round, but I still want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful, involved dads out there.

How was your week? We are enjoying nice weather in the Pacific Northwest, so it was easy to get out for some walks this week…a bit harder once my walking buddy went out of town though…

Leave a comment with your miles, and good luck this week! Just two weeks left of this challenge!

Guest Post | My View by Jessie

Jessie shared these pictures with my in May, and I thought it would be fun for everyone to see what it looks like to do the 100 Mile Challenge in Tennessee. Feel free to share pictures from your walk, run, or other exercise methods with me too! Email: batnt99 AT gmail.com.

These photos are taken at a walking trail near my house. Because of the recent rains the river was really high which makes for the lush green all around.

I love walking here because there is plenty of room for my kids to zoom along and makes me feel like I'm way out in nature without having to leave my neighborhood. I love Tennessee for it's glorious springs!

The bridge was our halfway point. I promised the kids (who had by this time abandoned their scooters behind a tree about a half mile back) that when we got to the bridge we could take a break.

It worked!  We made it to the bridge.

What a fun post! Thanks, Jessie! My daughter was born in Tennessee so we hope to get there sometime and do some exploring. Love all the green, and I can’t believe how high the water is! I love that you get your kids involved with your 100 Miles. Keep it up!

The Hike That Almost Killed Me

I agreed to hike Mt. St. Helens in September with some friends and we did a training hike on Friday. This one is similar in elevation gain, but not as tough as the Mt. St. Helens hike. I have been walking, but not hiking and I was not prepared.

The rest of the group was way ahead of me and I really struggled up the trail. I had to stop often for a rest. I was having a hard time catching my breath. My muscles screamed with every step. I was embarrassed, honestly.

As I moved along, ever so slowly, I thought of this quote though. No matter how slow you go… I think it’s true…I don’t think it mattered that I was so slow. I was doing it. Because of time restraints, I didn’t make it to the top, but I went as far as I could. I saw some beautiful things. I realized how much work I have to do and how hard I need to work before September.

I could have come off that mountain defeated. I could come off and decide to not hike Mt. St. Helens with my friends. I came off wanting to do better though: eat better. drink more water. exercise more. push myself harder.

Round 5 | Week 9

I can’t believe it is June! Just a few more weeks in this challenge. Apparently, spring is our quarter for exercise. More people than ever are still reporting numbers to me each week. I am loving it!

How was your week? Today is the last day of this week. Leave a comment – and be sure to check my math!
